PostHeaderIcon How To Basically Decorate A Red Rose Valentine Cake.

Valentine’s Day or Saint Valentine’s Day is a holiday celebrated on February 14 by scores of people throughout the world. In the English-speaking countries, it is the traditional day on which lovers communicate their love for each other by sending Valentine’s cards, offering flowers, candy, and cakes

The day is most closely associated with the mutual exchange of love notes in the form of “valentines”. The U.S. Greeting Card Association estimates that roughly one billion valentines are sent each year worldwide, making the day the second leading card-sending holiday of the year, behind Christmas. The association estimates that, in the US, men spend on average twice as much money as women.

In the baking industry many forms of cakes are made for this celebration. One might think that the cake itself should be in the shape of a heart. This is not necessary because the cake can be baked in a average sized round pan. The way in which the cake is decorated is what matters.

Today I will explain how to basically decorate a Red Rose Valentine Cake. Regrettably, I cannot post the picture of what it looks like here. Instructions on how to decorate a Red Rose Valentine Cake

This is intended for a 6″ round cake.

1. Ice the cake with white icing. Use your small 6″ spatula and a wrist motion to make wavy top and sides.

2. Airbrush the bottom half of the side and outer edge of the top with Pink Shimmer Airbrush Color.

3. Mix a soft green color using Green Liquid Airbrush Color with a ½ drop of Brown Liquid Airbrush.

4. Utilize a coupler in your pastry bag to easily switch the green tube from the #18 tube for the bottom border to a #3 for the rose stems, then to a #352 deep cut leaf tube for the rose leaves.

5. Use Oasis Bright Red Royal Icing Roses in Standard and Small.

6. Write an message in white with a #3 plain round tube on a White Scroll Dec-Ons® decoration and after that airbrush with pink shimmer color.

In the above steps I’ve spoken about “Shimmer Airbrush Colors”, which are a relatively new product. The shimmer airbrush colors can be used on the entire cake or spray it on gum paste and fondant flowers. It will add an elegant shimmer look to your creations. Now you can get the look of professionals. Impressive for all types of cakes. Shimmer Colors can be found at your neighborhood cake decoration supply store.
